New theme is officially finished. No art updates cuz I’m too lazy to scan things~ Maybe soon, now that the site’s pretty to look at.

And I don’t usually sing the praises of my plugins, but I feel the need to make an exception for this one. It’s seriously the best lightbox for WordPress ever. It attaches its rel tags separately from the dashboard somehow (on page load maybe?), which you’ll never have to edit old posts to get it to work with them. It also means you can put any kind of code you want into your post (I’m looking at you, NextGen singlepic shortcode), without having compatibility issues.

And by that I mean this blog. New built-from-scratch theme, new location. I figured out how to do an .htaccess redirect, so everything should still point here, even from the old location. I’m crossing my fingers that the feeds will redirect properly, too. Anyway, please update your bookmarks to http://gloomday.com/attacks, and modify/resubscribe your feeds accordingly.
Thank you~

Edit

Yes, the feed redirect (for rss2, at least) does indeed work. I make no promises about the category feeds or atom.

So here’s a little thing I did last week (or was it two weeks ago?). I know, it’s not particularly exciting, but it was one of those things I had an image of in my head and had to get out. It’s still not right; I keep tweaking it, but without getting slightly more involved in the modification, I guess I’ll settle for this version. For now.

I’m semi-hard at work (between watching things and poking at my aquarium tanks and surviving another heat wave) at a number of things. I’m in the mid- to finishing stages of a Victorian girl piece for my friend Marc,* I started a reworking of my original (ninja bunny) gloomday attacks! banner, I’m in the mock-up stage for a redesign of my portfolio site, I have take-along sketchbook-making on the brain,** and mm… there was something else, I just can’t remember what. Oh, I was working on comic-y story stuff the other week, too—but that’s not what I was thinking of.

* which I liked yesterday, but not so much today, especially after digging up my book of John Singer Sargent portrait drawings. Right now I want to scrap the whole thing and start over, but it seems a waste.
** I had planned on one design, but I acquired this lovely scrap of black leather last week, so now I want to make something out of it as well.

Aaaand the new gloomday re-remodel is up. Finally.
I’m quite pleased with it, but then, I was pleased with the last version, too…well, briefly, at least.

Dethklok’s rescheduled set was last night; pretty much identical to the Berkeley show, but still nice to see. Plus, I got a soft pretzel on the way there.

Oh, and Kungfu Panda was cute, but I wish they’d done the whole movie like the opening scene, which was absolutely gorgeous.

It’s actually fairly nice weather today, not too warm. Of course, it is getting a bit sticky in here now that I’ve closed the windows down to avoid the grass fire smell (anything which adds to headaches should unquestionably be avoided). Oh well.

Will probably be posting again later with some more colored heads, if my night isn’t too full of other things. Right now my tummy is gurgling, which means it’s time to go make enchiladas.~

The new gloomday.com is now live!

That being said, don’t expect much in the way of new content. Actually, don’t expect any at all; if you keep up with here, you’ve seen it all already. The site’s just, well, prettier and less buggy. I do have plenty of room to expand (note the ample space available on the nav bar), but who knows when I’ll actually produce content to put there.

If you find any broken things, do let me know. I’ve poked it relentlessly with variously-sized implements of torture (mainly sticks), but I wouldn’t be surprised if it still had some nasty little secrets.

Well, gloomday is officially up. The layout will do for now, but it seems kind of… uninteresting? Any opinions? Bottom line is, I already want to redo it, but I have neither the brain nor the energy for it any time in the near future. Also, it’s missing the evil sheep page, since I can’t figure out what the hell to put there, but that’s a minor thing. I think I remembered to update everything: the old site, the mailing list, the comics directory listing…. :3 Just have to email my old provider to let him know I’m going to be skittering off, but that can wait a bit.

<rolls>

Gotta finish the script.
Printmaking starts next Thursday and I still don’t have my class CDs. Bastards.

Also, Marc () has asked me to do a guest strip of Chainsaw Dinosaur. I thumbnailed it last night and it has since gone into the "this is stuff I’m working on" pile, which uh… let’s just say I don’t know what’s three pages down. But! it’s on top, and I shouldn’t be putting anything else on top of it in the foreseeable future. So that’s a plus, right?

meganwindberg.com, my new and shiny, yet incredibly “…that’s it?” portfolio site is now live. Keep in mind it’s my graphic design stuff only, for future work opportunities.

When I finally get around to designing and uploading the permanent version of gloomday.com, the Evil Sheep

will be mascotting it. Now, being the fearsome dictator of the Dominion of Tater Totten that he is, naturally he doesn’t do this without some sort of incentive. In exchange for his most beneficent presence, I’m letting him run some propaganda and other announcements on the journal. He might be getting some sort of sporadic comic in future too… but we’re still negotiating that part of his contract.

For now, please note that such messages from him will be marked by an appropriately patriotic user icon (such as the one above) and a subject line that mentions him or Tater Totten in some way. My entries will, well, look and sound like my entries. Let’s just hope he doesn’t start trying to take over my posts too….

Megan out. :3
